Anybody else tired from all the travel?

Post by pear » Sat Mar 19, 2005 8:18 pm

Hi All, Anybody else as "road weary" as I am? I love the fall, winter, and early spring for hunting and field trialing, but this dude has to many miles under him this year........... Been to Texas, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Iowa, since October, with one more trip to Indiana to go, before we rest. Time now to work on NAVHDA, and AKC Hunt Test, that can all be done much closer to home  .........."pear"

I wish I was road weary as you.

I did though have a bit of a taste by going twice to N.D twice to Oklahoma, and once to New Mexico.

I wish I could afford to spend my time fishing in the Spring and Hunting in the fall and visist with my wife in between. Now, that would be a life style I would enjoy.Honey,I'll see you in couple of months!!!!

I noticed your from WV. you might say I was raised up around Weirton way.

Where abouts in Indiana are you going to.Littel NE of Indy.I know the Britt club is putting a hunt test on..

Now you have a very small idea of what a professional trial trainer/handler goes through! Now try adding 20 or more dogs in the mix along with 4 horses. Thats a lot of "movements" to clean up!

Showing up at a trial on a Thursady, driving all the stakes, work all weekend, train on Monday & Tuesday.....pick up and hit the next one to start all over again. Add in an occasional Championship during the week too!

When I was on the road full time......We went from Maine to Florida with a few trips west! Summer Camp & Winter Camp for two months each!

I enjoyed it fully!

Now with the new local, camps are no longer necessary with all our wild birds and temperate weather. Trials are within 6 hours or so too. I am spoiled!
