Thanks everyone. Here is the peds of these dogs. B.A.'s ped is not that impressive, but I don't think it has to be, the dog is extremely impressive. :) The guy I got him from bred 2 generations and was just hunting them so no titles but nice dogs for sure. The pups will go back to Dixieland Rusty 7 times in 8 generations.

I say get that dog a chest protector!
What does he run thru to get beat up like that? I have had dogs go over wire and get tore up in that area. They get on a retrieve and that is all they focus on it seems. Nice looking dogs, she is very dark for liver.

If I remember right, you need to look at her dog Rip's pedigree to look at a partial pedigree for her. She was Cricket's dam x a Wildburg sire. Rip is Huster x Cricket.

Bryers, these things are the worst, and are everywhere in ohio. Boozer always has here toung, or eyes, or chest, or whatever cut. You can't protect everything. I do use a chest protector when hunting but when just out training I usually don't. These dogs are used to being tore up and it never bothered them one bit.

When it is overcast and I take pics of liver dogs they look very dark. They are liver, and the male is dark, but not that dark. The last pic of him is accuallly close to his color.

Greg, I will check that out. I do remember now, she has Wilburg lines.

Hmmm. I took the time to look and thing that perhaps I was somewhat incorrect to say "a Wildburg male".

Here is Rip's pedigree: http://www.walnuthillgsps.us/stud_dogs/rip.htm .

If you look at their stuff it makes a lot of sense. You see a lot of recurring themes. You just might not see where it comes from off the right side of the pedigree.

I noticed Birdshot Sam in your dogs pedigree. He was one of the first GSP's I ever hunted with back 15 years ago. The dog was amazing. He was owned by a good friend of mine from Big Rapids, MI. My dad owned a pup out of Sam. Probably the best GSP we have ever owned.

My old "Snip" dog was born in '79 so she goes back to some old stuff. The Birdacres goes to Adam a bunch, the color comes from some dogs I grew up with in Ky, Ruben (Snips sire) was handsome, his color was like your dog. His sire Alaric was littermate to DC Eva Von Kieckefer. This was when I first started and wanted a good liver field dog, so I bred that bitch to Duke VD Wildburg. I never got that color again because Duke threw very solid liver. I still get the white chest (Sally) and maybe feet but that is all. As for BA she was a heck of a dog, she was littermate to at least 15 FC's. She is Grandma to a bitch I just posted on my site, "Izzy".

Brenda, the dog in the pic I posted is Duke bred on her dams side - her grandsire is FC Rammers Grand Cody, a Duke son and goes back to Adam on her sires side.

Those sure are some fine looking dogs. I love the solid point stuff. Always gets me going to see a dog show his stuff so to speak. You sure have put in a lot of hard work on your dogs Miss. Brenda. I like the line you have too.

Awesome ohio, and very affordable pups too. I sure like the looks of that sgt. The female is a fine one too. Wish I could get out and hunt the last day tomorrow....
