A day of Mearns

Post by kninebirddog » Tue Jan 29, 2008 4:14 pm

Yeah we finally got to go for some wild birds. Headed to some mearns country. Heading out early morning a few hours south and off on a side road to public land and WOW

Well considering we don’t get to wild bird hunt much at all literally lucky if we can make it once a year off we went
Image
Yeah I ran my older Boy Bullet as he hasn’t been wild bird hunting in years trials and guiding pheasant and chukar….and he didn’t miss a lick on this bird
Image
He had another point but I couldn’t get to the camera
Image

Yeah Bullet you’re a good boy

Now when we got back to the truck I let the little Bailey monster go. She was happy we were back said hi and zoom zoom she was off running up and down the hills stop to flush on a couple tweeties. But she was hunting

yeah this is flat out I am not done yet

Now If anyone knows us our trips anywhere never seem to go with out something….guess the guy who did the welding job on the old beater dog trialer didn’t do a good job…We literally were hanging on by 2 threads…road side welding in Patagonia

All I can say is I envy you! I am tired of trecking throw the snow and ice to find wild birds!

Born2hunt,

Are you going to Vizsla nationals this year? It's in your neck of the woods but for us its a 19 1/2 hour drive so I think we are going to skip it this time.

Its so much fun out there. I havent made it for a couple weeks. Maybe I can get a morning hunt in this weekend?

Its always good after the rains. Hopefully you all can get out there a couple more times.
