That white bird with the color

Post by markj » Mon Mar 10, 2008 10:08 am

in a pic posted here awhile ago. What type of bird was that? Where do you hunt them? I have never seen one so I hope someone can tell me something on them.

They are just pigeons. You hunt them anywhere and see them everywhere.

Ptarmigan? They can be found in many of the Rocky mountain states above 12000 feet all the way to Alaska

may be it. I saw a pic here of a dog with a white bird had some very bright color in him. Never hunted one of those and thought it was a kewl looking bird.

Was no pigion dude :) I can get as many pigions as I want. Sqab season is soon to be upon us. Used to "rob nests" for the older guys that paid good money for sqabs to eat.

Friend of mine was talking about a pair of pigions he sold to a japanese dude, got 50 grand per bird. I bout crapped me drawers when he told me that. He raises pheas, quail and other species of birds.

Your friend must be a famous racer. What is his name? I know there are some pigeons worth $200,000+. I guy near me is auctioning babies out of one of his birds and usually get 10-20,000 ea. That is unheard of for a bird that is unproven in the race loft or breeding loft.

What is his name?
Check you PMs. :) We used to catch em you8ng and sell em to old guys for sqaub :) I never could eat em but they sure did. Got a buck apiece for babies then. Could make a quick 50 bucks and at that time (80s) that was a bit of easy cash.

Had a guy would buy the carp we caught too while fishing. Had a nice operation there for awhile, then married the gal I am divorcing and she put a stop to all of that. Getting back to the old stuff I once did now and teaching my son. Win win :)
