New member, first post. I have a Springer that's almost 14 and am considering getting a pointer as her replacement. She no longer hunts due to her age, but in her day, she did very well. One thing though - up until age 10, she got carsick. She no longer gets carsick, I'm guessing that due to hearing loss, it has short-circuirted the inner ear problems that caused the puking.
Does anyone have carsickness with their dog? What, if anything cured it? I had to give mine tranquilizers to get her anywhere in the field. thanks

I've never had to deal with it, but if you start the dog out on short trips (after you get it comfortable to even being in the car) works good. Sometimes it can be as tedious as just backing out of the driveway and pulling back in. It's a long proccess, but it works. Avoiding food and/or water is also an option, to which I'm sure you've already tried, having dealt with it for 10 years!
