Cleaning under elevated runs
How do you guys with elevated runs clean underneath? I can't imagine that the feces and such accumulate under there.
Do you just hose it down? Disinfect?

I would think a pooper scooper daily would do the trick. Urine would wash away.

Actually my dogs were kennel crate trained inside for a few weeks after getting them. Then they were moved to the outside kennel. After about 4 1/2 months of age, getting them out for a while every morning and several hours each evening they do not poop in the kennel at all. I recently attended a seminar by a veterinary sports medicine specialist. It had to do with nutrition and medical care for the hunting dog. He said you can train your dog to empty on command in about three weeks by using a command each time he starts to go. I have been doing this for a while and even if he doesn't have a whole lot in him he will squeeze something out. It could come in handy before a test or event.

Sevin is an all natural pesticide that can be used on most garden vegetables as well as other things where you don't want a hazardous residue. There are other pesticides that are better but none safer that I know of.
I don't believe it has any control over internal parasites though.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

It doesn't work on the dog's innards, but it does in the feces that the Sevin comes into contact with. I use it for a wide variety of pest control.I don't believe it has any control over internal parasites though.
If you spray down your kennel and the feces breaks apart, the eggs and such can be deposited in the soil near the kennel or elsewhere. I guess it's just an extra added security to regular worming.
Since round worms and other internal parasites do not hatch outside of the body I still don't see where it adds any protection. It has to be consumed to be effective.

Not a thing. I just didn't want someone buying it for roundworm protection. It probably works well for the flys if you can use enough of it. Lots of people with rabbits and livestock are using the little parasitic wasps that lay their eggs in the maggot.

Good point. I guess for me it's just peace of mind. And you're right. You still have to do the regular proven methods of parasite prevention to include regular worming and fecal checks from time to time. My daughter works for a vet and can check Libby's whenever I need it done. I'd hate to look at poop under a microscopeNot a thing. I just didn't want someone buying it for roundworm protection

Wood flooring absorbs lots of bad stuff like germs etc.Seal it with a good sealer and keep it clean. Some are using hecomposite floorng like for decs, it doesnt absorb stuff that may be bad. My next dog boxes will have this for the floorng.
