Opening weekend of grouse hunting in WI. This 93 yard point produced my first bird in the game bag of the day. (Taken with my cell phone.)

A lot of Britts have blue eyes are little puppies, but they turn green or hazel by the time they get about 4 or 5 months old.

They don't stay green long either...just a transitional stage. Some of them go from blue to green/hazel and finish to more of a yellow.

Wow, thanks for the biology lesson and the brush up on color.

No, the pup had bright blue eyes. They changed to the brightest green and now are turning more of a yellow or amber as you call it.

Heres another picture of the pup when his eyes were more blue.

Not sure if your kidding or not. See the light on the couch? That is from a flash I think. Flash directly into a dogs eye's turn them green. Same thing as red eye in people.

Melvin4730 , I'm still seeing the amber coloring in both images you have put up. The light shining in the dogs eyes have caused the pupils to turn green, whish isn't the same as the coloring around the pupil.
It is true that Britt's eyes start out blue, but they change to the amber coloring within a couple of months. My current pup is 13 weeks and her eyes have changed from blue to amber.
I still have never seen a green eyed Britt.

Like I said in the other post, the picture is not the best. Im pretty sure I've never been called a liar by someone that doesn't know me from Adam. This is a first. The dogs eyes were green. Im 36 years old. I've had hunting dogs all of my life. I've trained hunting dogs for the past 10 years as a hobby. Im also a college educated man, so my IQ is at least at the average level. A lot of the Brittany pups start off with blue eyes. As they age they do turn yellow or amber as you called it. When the blue eyes start getting some of the yellow pigment, they turn green. Blue + Yellow = Green. Like I stated before, the green in a transitional color from the blue to the yellow/amber. Its short lived, but for a week or so, some brittanies have green eyes. Mine did. Some of the Brittanies I've had in the past also did. Im sorry you've never noticed.

Again, I said the picture is not a good picture. Im not sure why you can't understand that. Its a flash from my cell phone. I said it was a bad picture from my cell phone. But, the dogs eyes are still green. Not as green as they were a few weeks ago and probably more green then they will be next week. My picture is not the only proof Brittanies sometimes having green eyes during the puppy stage. Google...green eyes Brittany.

Heres a link from a brittany rescue talking about brittanies with green eyes. Now, I've never seen an adult with green eyes, but a pup or two. http://www.brittanyrescueintexas.org/br ... brittanys/

"Such differences between the American Brittany and the Epagneul Breton are most often observed in the color of coat, eye, and in the color of skin pigmentation in the lips, eyelids and pads of the feet. Epagneul Bretons often, but not always, have black in the coat, and pigmentation of the lips, eyelids and pads of the feet. Scientific research has demonstrated that the Epagneul Breton carries the “agouti” or “black” color gene. The Epagneul Breton are medium sized with a coat of orange and white, black and white, liver and white, or tricolor combinations in liver or black, mixed with traditional white and orange. Pigmentation in the nose, feet, lips and eyelids of the Epagneul Breton is typically quite dark, approaching black, as are their eyes which range from very dark brown to black, and most often do not have the light brown, golden, and green eye color seen in the American Brittany."

Heres a link to a few pictures of a little brittany pup that still have some green left in his eyes.

They don't stay green long either...just a transitional stage. Some of them go from blue to green/hazel and finish to more of a yellow.
Not sure if your kidding or not. See the light on the couch? That is from a flash I think. Flash directly into a dogs eye's turn them green. Same thing as red eye in people.

Dude, the dogs eyes are green. I tried to take a picture of it to show you, but the picture didn't turn out great. Its with a cell phone. They are green. The couch is green also.[/quote]

The bigger question is who cares?
