YE i was gutted mate, the lad got a right telling off, and so did the daughter three days later, but the damage is done and thankfully the springer and pups are doing well, so what will they be called springeramas perhaps?

Re: WIEMARANER X SPRINGER ANYONE?
The same thing happened to me awhile back with my English Setter and Elhew Pointer accidentally mating. I got ripped a new one on this site so I know myself accidents can happen and there is no need to hammer the guy on this. I ended up giving away all the pups and getting my setter fixed and buying a female pointer in case anyone wants to know what happened with my story. Good hunting dogs are good hunting dogs no matter what the breed or combination of breeds as long as no one tries to pass them off as something they are not, like some breeders have done with breeding setters and pointers and passing the long haired ones off as setters and the short haired ones off as pointers and registering them as such or breeding English pointers to GSP's and passing the pups off as a GSP. Point is accidents happen and as long as you are honest about it no harm done. The only thing that irks me in some cases probably not this one is when I see ads for crossbred dogs for sale for $50 or $100. I do not condone killing any type of non harmful dog but I do not think people should sell them either. Just my personal opinion.
Re: WIEMARANER X SPRINGER ANYONE?
Spriems or Wiemingers? I thought the same thing at first too, about this should not have happened. I am not endorsing it, but stuff happens and now that they're here, they'll still make great pets just like any other dog. Maybe they will automatically point then flush? Find 'em good homes cause they're still good little doggies. Denise

Just call them "Droppers". Too bad it wasn't a cross between a Weim and a GWP, because then you could have ended up with the ugliest dogs in history!

Re: WIEMARANER X SPRINGER ANYONE?
I recently saw where an accidental mixed litter, required an adoption fee to cover spay / neuter and vaccines. And the breeder extended the same offer to take any puppy back at any age if you can no longer keep it, as they do with their purebred puppies. Offered training advice and lifelong help and treated them equally. This is not ideal in any situation, but these folks went to lengths to make sure the accident stopped there, and that all the puppies were placed in good resposible homes and would never end up contributing to the shelter/ stray situation. I thought they made the best of a bad situation.

I think Mutts sounds good. but true.
Re: WIEMARANER X SPRINGER ANYONE?
Oh please do not even joke about potential cross names! Pretty soon those designer mutt breeders will discover how awesome our dogs are and start mixing them to charge $400-2000.birddog wrote:ymepointer wrote:I think Weimar Spaniels sounds good.

Accidents happen, I'm sure you'll be more careful next time and hopefully explain the heat cycles and breeding info to your kids. If necessary, maybe a padlock is in order on one of the kennels? My best advice is to offer the pups as pets without any silly names and make sure they're going to be neutered.

Re: WIEMARANER X SPRINGER ANYONE?
no the sore spot has ocurred since the pups were born, she keeps scratching her self, some sort of iritation got something from the vets now and its healing fine, was quite worried about it myself,
