Dog bags

Post by djswizz » Wed Sep 03, 2008 12:37 pm

I've seen them before and my dad has one. It is a fairly large bag that you can put everything your dog needs in them. It's almost like a cloth tackle bag in a way, but for dogs. Anyone have one? I Google'd it but could not find anything... Thanks!

Go to Home Depot and buy a cloth tool bag. They come in all sizes and are pretty tough.

The Avery bag is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I will look at HD or Lowes too, but I think the Avery one is great. Thanks for the help!

Greg--That does look like a nice bag for the money. If you order it, let me know what it's like (full dimensions/interior pockets?). Do they have it on the store shelf too?

I had been looking at the Mud River trainer's bag ($37.00 at Gun Dog Supply). But the dimensions and the outer structure look similar to the one you've posted for almost 1/2 the price. Denise

Denise,
I already have the bag. I'll do some measurements and take pictures sometime this evening.

I initially tried to order the bag from Lion Country. The bag had been discontinued and they didn't have any left. I asked and was told that it "sold like hot cakes" but that they couldn't find a good supplier.

I have one of Boyt bags show in the link below. I love it for holding all my dog training supplies.

I use a small gym/duffle bag. check ebay - they have some great ones, cheap.

Here is an awesome one for $15 "buy it now" price:

here is one a little more expensive from Oakley:

The stuff at Boyt is amazing! Looks like great quality, but too $$$ for my needs. I am actually going to go to an Army/Navy Surplus store and get either a standard duffle or a Army toolbag like this:

They have tons of options and the quality is amazing. Not to mention, they carry collapeable water bags for the field and so much more. Prices are perfect too!

Happened across an interesting possibility today while wandering through Walmart. Jeep makes a pretty sizeable diaper bag for $20. I know, I know--you guys are rolling your eyes. Other than a 1" logo at the bottom, that a sharpie will take care of, no one would ever guess. It's actually totally black, has a zippered top, with the doctors bag type wire around the opening to keep it open. Exterior pockets with flaps. Seemed pretty roomy too, and looked fairly comparable in size to the high$ training bags I've seen. All good suggestions. Still thinking though......... Denise

I think this was the one I saw--or close to it.

That looks like an excellent use of one. Looks like it would hold a water botttle. Also, one of those side pockets would be great for a dog food pouch. And the little attachment case that clips on would be perfect for a transmitter.

And for the grand sum of $17.82, I think this one's a winner!

That's how I got mine; just stumbled across it. Holds everything but my shotgun in one bag. Lovin' it.
