Happy Thanksgiving

Post by ezzy333 » Thu Nov 27, 2008 9:27 am

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Please do not forget to give thanks for all of our blessings, many of which someone is away from home to provide. Bless all of those who are suffering and lets all try to share some of our bounty, whether it be food, money, or love.

God Bless

Ezzy

Happy Thanksgiving from one Canadian to her American friends

Ezzy, Special people like you get special attention. I'm going to bed to read and watch a movie with wifey. We got up at 3:30 this morning and went to St. Louis to see the parade with our daughter. It was our first parade there, and we enjoyed it. May run the Setter on some wild quail tomorrow. Best,

Ezzy, Hunted about 45 minutes this afternoon with my 11 1/2 yr old Llewellin. My cousin and I hunted some CRP around the edge of some woods. My dog never got birdy, and didn't hunt real well. He is getting old, and I've been treating him for low thyroid the past 4 months or so. I know if he had hit scent, he would have perked up, but he just acted tired. But we got some exercise and enjoyed our short hunt anyway.

Sounds like you did the right thing with your dog. I think they really appreciate a few minutes in the field even if they can't run like they used to. I know I do. Wish it wasn't so far down there, would love to come down and have my dogs embarass me while two old codgers get a little slow exercise in the field. It's what dreams are made of.

Ezzy, That sounds right. I have plenty of places to hunt, and there are quail here. Due to excessive predation, you only find them in heavy cover. Too bad it's so far, you would be welcome.
