Has anyone used either the magnetic mount or the portable long range antennas?
I loose signal past 1.05 miles. Need to be able to track at more range. I have the DC30.
Two reasons for need of more range.
1. To find dogs after competition while they have been gone for 10-20 min. They can be anywhere. They are not run offs.
2. My wife runs marathons with my dogs. I need to be able to track both of them through the city streets at a distance.
Is there a way to pull just the dog tracks onto the computer? How do you save different tracks for different dogs?

Re: Garmin Astro portable antennas
I have not. But if you go to this link there are lots of old threads about it. Apparantly the majority of the hound guys use the longe range antennaes.

Re: Garmin Astro portable antennas
Thanks
The hound guys are all about the Garmin. They buy 2-20 for their packs of dogs. They liked both the magnetic and portable antennas. Some have been using their Yagi antennas from their other tracker systems and adapting them to their Garmin as a external antenna. Not as great a reception as the Garmin external antennas. No one really stated exactly the max of their reception was though. But several stated they have never lost communication with their dogs. I ordered the magnetic antenna. If I loose a dog or need to follow through the city streets the magnetic antenna sounds like my best bet.
Thank
Scott
