Re: Leasing...?
Rob~I have done it before. It's pretty simple. There is an AKC form that you have to fill out that basically states the owner and the person who is leasing the bitch. It temporarily transfers ownership of the bitch to the leasee for a period specified to cover time that the dog was bred, until the time the pups are weened from momma. (2 weeks before to 2 weeks after to be safe.) This will allow the leasee to be specified as the breeder of the litter.
As far as payment for leasing the bitch... that is between the owner and leasee. I traded for a pup. (most people probably want more than that I would think)

Re: Leasing...?
Ya I just didn't know what would be a fair price to pay or if its a co-share on the litter thing or how it works. I didn't know anything about the leasee thing through AKC thats good to know. Just wondered if common practice was a fee or % or just how it works.
thank you

Re: Leasing...?
Yep...pretty easy to do. the form is on the AKC web site.
I traded training for the lease of the female too. I would say a fair price would be the cost of a puppy, or maybe pick of the litter.

Re: Leasing...?
Rob~If you are considered an amatuer, then I don't know if you can trade training for the lease. That may be considered a kind of payment for training, therefore making you a PRO. I am not sure of the rules on that part.

What about leasing FDSB dogs? Is there a form for that?
