I took some pictures of the homemade carrier we use to plant birds encase some of you were interested. It's made out of 6" PVC and can hold around 6-8 birds.

Re: Bird carrier revisited
Very similar to the ones we use. Ours has two long dog collars that are horizontal to the tube, one at the top the other at the bottom. The top strap goes above the calf of the leg and the other just above the ankle. Sure makes it easy when planting off a 4-wheeler. I like the clamp at the top.

Re: Bird carrier revisited
I assume 6 to 8 birds means quail? I use a milk crate with a piece of plywood on top with a trap door on top. The thing rides straped to the front carrier of my 4 wheeler. Will probably hold 8 or 10 pigeons but all I even put in it is 6. I used to use inner tube for top access on the boxes I used to make.

I just use me coat pockets. If I need to carry serveral birds at once, I use me field coat with the large pocket on the back.
