skunked!

Post by Greg Jennings » Sat Sep 17, 2005 6:41 pm

While exercising this evening, my V went on point, then backed out, shook his head repeatedly and ran with his face on the ground.

I thought, "OH NO!, he's been sprayed" and then "Maybe it wasn't a direct hit".

No such luck. He reeked.

We had the dogs in the back of the 4Runner. It must have seemed like "Opposites Day" with the humans all hanging their heads out in the wind and the dogs inside.

The peroxide/baking soda/dish washing detergent cure really works.

Best regards,

Add oatmeal shampoo to your list of ingredients. My first golden got skunked 4 different times, everytime she got wet after that you could always smell it.
good luck :fart:

I went back to the same general area just avoiding where Nav got into the skunk yesterday.

Gunner went on point. I could tell that it wasn't something he was comfortable with. When I started in front to flush, I could see the polecat.

I barely got Gunner by the collar before he charged it. He wanted it *bad*.

2 skunks in 2 days. I guess I'm going to be living in "Skunk Bottom".

Best,

My dogs just got sprayed today too. All three of them. I'm glad they ride in the back of a pickup! Luckily it wasn't a direct hit but they still reek!
