Boot Question
Boot Question
I am looking for a good pair of upland boots, would prefer uninsulated but would consider a pair with only a couple hundred grams of insulation. MY problem is I need them in 4E . Not having much luck. Anybody know a good quality brand that makes them that wide? Thanks in advance. Vernon
Re: Boot Question
Check with "Schnee" they custom make a good boot.
Re: Boot Question
SGC - I was actually thinking of getting a pair of their Bozeman upland boots. Have you tried 'em yourself by chance?

Re: Boot Question
I have horrible feet and ankles. I like the Irish setter Elk tracker with 200 grams, (I got mine at Gander Mountain). really like them. Another, I heard makes great boots custom to you is Russel. I don't have there web site. But they make a mould and fit you.
I do not like the LLBean boots and certainly not the Kangaroo boots. They don't help you jump any better and shrink after wet. But many do like LLbean??

Re: Boot Question
vern3, Have you ever tried Muck boots. I personally will never be without a pair of those. I use the black chore boots that they put out. Just a suggestion.

I have a couple pair of Russell boots that I had custom made for my feet. They have a form that you can print off the internet so that you can measure your foot or they can send you a catalog with the form in it. They are a bit pricey but worth it.

Re: Boot Question
I have always had problems with my feet. Getting boot that fit me, and that I can walk in all day is a problem. Last season I bought a pair of uninsulated Danner Pronghorns. They have fit well and are comfortable all day. They were so comfortable right out of the box, I didn't have to break them in.

Re: Boot Question
Russel Moccassin ... I'm on my second set of replacement soles, I wear them so often. Invest in two pair and rotate. You will never go back to store-bought boots.

I like the Danner Sharptail Covey zipbacks. They feel great right out of the box as well.

I have the same problem 8 eeee when i find a pair I like that fit I buy 2 of them, I also where Muck boots.
Re: Boot Question
They are not 'hunting' boots, but I have worn out one pair of the Columbia Hiking boots over the past 6 seasons and bought two more pair. Lightweight, waterproof and enough insulation for early season.

Re: Boot Question
For bird hunting I really like the Browning Upland boot, light and durable and all quality boots are now waterproof.
