Southern California (Riverside) area

Post by Elkhunter » Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:48 pm

Am considering chasing down employment in this area, how is it for Field Trials and quail hunting? It seems fairly close to AZ so if anyone has any experience let me know!

Thanks

Josh

Riverside is a real armpit

SMOG - SMOG and more SMOG.

What hunting there was.....was many years ago.

You will need a days a travel to find any birds.

Sorry that's just the way I see it.

While Riverside itself may not be paradise, there is some fine wild chukar hunting less than a 2 hour drive away in the high desert. There is decent valley quail in the foothills and canyons to the north and east. Some specatacular dove shooting is to be found in the Coachella and Imperial valleys to the southeast. There are also some pretty good bird clubs in the area like Four Winds, Raahauge's and Prado.

Thanks Wingman, I talked with Sheldon Twer and he said there are quite a few trials in that area and good hunting in a 4-5 hour drive. Appreciate it.
