Brittany experience

took all four on a road trip- little ones settled down right quick in dog box with adults- two in each- we'd pull off the road to a side road and let them out to run every 3 hours- camped in a persons back yard- first time with a collar on and staked out pups- took them to a big lake for the pups to try water first time- backed up to the water and let them all out- pups charged into the water with the adults- one went under- came up shaking like crazy- water in the ears- I waded out with them- eyes were real big and watching me- little legs churning like mad when lifted out of the water- with the male leading both pups retrieved a tennis ball thrown 15'- they'd be shivering but instead of towling them dry I'd walk them to shore and let them run arround to dry- not to long and they'd be back to the water- nice secluded place where there weren't any distraction with woods and places for the pups to explore- course both adults didn't stick arround much-

since getting back- apears they want to go again

I enjoyed your story. Very nice looking dogs. :)

Shadow,

I think those pups are going to be big like their Dad, but I really like the story and the picture.

Really Nice, No new pup yet still looking

Shadow, I always enjoy photos of bird dogs and it sounds like you are doing good by exposing them to different environmets and conditions. I believe that is an important part of raising a gun dog. Good luck with them.

Mcbasco,

to answer your question about the adult Britts in the picture , They are the little ones parents.

wish I was a fan of Britts as a hunting partner could have had 1 of those little fellers in my house right now, but I let Shadow have all the fun, cute little suckers.

ahhhh Maverick- hold on for the pup you want- course someday you might have to carry a gun behind these 4
believe you're right- pups are 11 weeks- male pup has a bigger bone structure and might really be big
Shadow's a bit lean- trying to put a couple lbs on him before the season- surprising thing is that he's the one that does all the playing with the pups- pups gang up on him and sound like they killing him- checked his ears for teeth marks- nope- and he checks them quite a bit- got the dog kennel ( garage) so that pups and mother can't get out but he can easily clear the door- he comes and goes thru the night
aside from the night- all 4 are in the house as much as in the fenced in yard

thanks Charlie- you are so right
tube boots on the male first- first time- still chuckling- but when he went outside the gate he flew- lost one- have to do better the next time
pups- well- tears came I was laughing so hard- carried them outside and set them down- good way to start whoa as they froze in place- male came to check on them- off they went- well sort of- lots of noise with those boots- geezes- got to do something here- male was out 298 yards and still flying-
quite a bit of burr picking and combing- my pants legs were covered in burrs- wonder where the fields are where there aren't millions of those burrs

thanks for the kind words folks-

Good lookin' dogs, Shadow.

My Britts love a good road trip, especially when it takes us to KS.

thanks- something that is catching my attention is no one has seen Brittany's arround here locally- burrs every where

took them to the Cimeron Grassland for a little run yesterday following the river bed- didn't take the tube boots- should have
but like the adults the pups don't have any trouble drinking from a water bottle

think I might be having a real big Britt- father is big and the male pup looks like he'll be heavier-
