Wanted to share a new favorite photo of Winnie
Wanted to share a new favorite photo of Winnie
Saturday morning I got a few chukar to do some training with, and although my camera battery died moments after we arrived at my neighbor's field, I was lucky enough to capture this cool shot of my Wirehaired Vizsla in the early morning fog.

Thanks!!GSPVIZ wrote:Nice pic Eddie.
How's she coming along?
Oh I guess she's coming along okay. I don't really know what I'm doing, but she is finding and pointing birds, and holding point long enough for me to get up there and flush it. So I think that is a huge positive. I am really nervous about the gunfire though, need to work on that. I'm anxious to start putting some of the pieces together but I don't want to rush it.
And we're both having a lot of fun. Winnie is a really mellow, even tempered dog. But she is starting to REALLY get excited when she sees the training gear come out. I love to see that!

That's one of the things I like about that picture. Looks good in her 'work clothes.'Sadie__Marie wrote:Nice pic. She's lookin like she's ready for business..

Thank you all for the very nice comments.
Re: Wanted to share a new favorite photo of Winnie
are they a single-coated dog?
Re: Wanted to share a new favorite photo of Winnie
There is an undercoat. But again, Winnie's is not the coat I'd want in a book about the breed standard.mcbosco wrote:are they a single-coated dog?
It's amazing how this coat repels water! Neat to see it in action either when she gets out of the water or when I'm bathing her.
She is MUCH more tolerant of cold than of heat.

love the picture with the sunlight coming through, awesome shot.

Eddie, every time I post you tell me to get updated pics. Here's a couple from yesterday. I really need to get some action shots.

He used to look like this. Clearly the ears are his best feature.

How cute! Lookin' great, man! Is he tall?? Do you know how much he weighs? He's at a great weight. Good to see the puppy pic too, I was trying to remember if his tail was docked or not. Winnies is not.
Re: Wanted to share a new favorite photo of Winnie
He's a very lean 58 lbs. He's also a bit leggy, but I think that's pretty normal. His tail is docked about 1/4.
