Up to this point, we've just been working on same basic obedience and letting Brandi run some fields. She's been on planted pigeons 3x, and had a few dead quail to carry around. We took her to our favorite public grounds last Saturday, and she got to see her first pheasant. I say see, as 2 wild hens flushed and then later 2 roosters, but she was upwind each time. We let her chase and investigate where they had taken off from. She was revved up, to say the least. This afternoon we took her out to burn some steam again. She appears to scent EVERYTHING, and occassionally will lock up on point. So when she did an intense little small search today and locked up, I was thinking mouse. Should've known, with a higher head, it was probably something bigger. Thank goodness I got the video camera out to get the "mouse point"--because I ended up capturing her very first wild pheasant point at 5.5 months old. As you can tell from the audio 
, I am amazed. I guess we'll start on steady-to-wing tomorrow...just kidding.
