We are located 40 miles East of Cleveland ,close to I-90. We are expecting a litter Dec.20th. If you click on Chrome in my signature he is the sire and Alex is the dam. When the pedigree comes up click on the magnifying glass and you will see some news from Google concerning that particular dog. If you wish more information PM me or send email to willokennels@gmail.com

Try Hank at Hi N Kennels. I believe he has a few pups left. He is on this board and from OH.

I think Doc Reynolds also has a pup or 2 for sale both he & Hank are clients of Chris Goegan @ www.hipointkennels.com. Chris can probably help you out with any info or a pup, tell him Ted Meyer referred you.

What do you mean? I'd like a GSP or Brittany...I'd take a dog up to a year. I'd like a green dog so I can do training my way.

Thanks for the suggestions guys :)

Oh, I'm looking for a pointing breed (vs flushing) and one that will be good with people, other animals and being kept indoors. :)

Try giving Helmut Schoen a call from Alpenblick Kennels. He lives in Pipersville, PA. He has a 7 or 8 month female available. She is a really nice dog...very calm and personable. I had her at my house for a month. I was actually thinking about keeping her.

One of my local shelters had two EP's brought in as "strays". One male and one female. The female was pregnant. I'm on the list to adopt one of the pups when they are ready-in about 3-4 weeks. :D

I'm quite excited, but trying not to get too hopeful in case something happens. :?

cost of a well bred pup arround 8 weeks old is $300.00 to $500.00- can pick a pup from a pound for free- nice-
course in the course of the pups 12 or so years the cost of a good pup against a free possible is a good choice

good luck in your choice

In my area the shelters charge more than would be expected. They spay or neuter and give shots I think it is around 150. That is quite a ways from being free.

Remmy - I was thinking the same thing. That is not the cost of what I would consider a well bred GSP.

I bought as well bred pup as you can find for 350 in Ohio and 500 in Michigan. I know of pups in the Carolina's going for less and of course there are a few that are being shopped fo more but I don't know that they get more.

really- so what is a well bred GSP that you are paying way more for- being that both of you know $500.00 won't buy a good 8 week old- or should I say- that $500.00 is the required deposit and you have to pay a whole lot more when you pick it up

please tell us more

I never said you can't get a good pup for $500...just not around my neck of the woods. Especially for champion FT breeding! That should be the normal cost of a pup. Most pups here are in the $1000 range. It's hard to find a pup under $1000. I think is ridiculous myself but that is what breeders in my area charge. You may get lucky and find one for around $600-700. It all depends on the type of breeding too. Show vs gun dog vs field trial dog, etc. You need to refinance your house if you want to buy a show gsp here! Prices are what they are. If the breeder can get it then good for him...but he ain't getting it from me!

It also would depend on the bloodline too. If you breed two NGSPA champions or AKC Nat Ch are you going to sell those pups for $300-$500?

The pups I sold for $600 were sired by NFC Tonelli's Rising Sun the very yr he won the NC.My last litter has 5 NFC in 4 generations including Sonny & Dunfur's where you Ben I sold them for $550 & still have 4 for sale at 13 mos of age.If you can get it good for you but you can't give them away here in Ohio.If you want to blame it on the female I guess that you could but she is out of some pretty nice breeding herself & the 2 of her pups that have been trialed have placements. That is out of 3 litters 1 by Sonny,1 by LB & the last by FC/AFC Rasin Ruckuzz.I never got any of the LB pups in trial home but was a couple pups that could have won & placed if trialed.Star my avatar dog is sired by Sonny from her first litter & is pointed. The other pup out of the last litter placed 2nd in her first trial this wk end.So yes I think my dogs are bred aswell as most if not better.

The prices you gave are both above the $300-$500 in question anyway. $600 is a fair price for a nicely bred pup. I know a few people in OH who do very well selling their pups above $600....above $800 for that matter. In any case, I could care less.

This wasn't intended to start an argument. Just telling you you will not get a pup between $300-500 in NJ period...that was my point!

Remmy no argument just fact.Ohio has no birds & jobs are almost as scarce & believe it or not more dogs are sold to hunters then trialers,no matter how well their bred.Hank Lewis you named,I have yet to see sell pups or advertise for more the $650 same with Doc Reynolds.I can't say they NEVER have but yet to see their adds for more & $650 is still aways from $1000 :D

Don't come to Ontario. Only 2 breeders of non-show/field line GSPs. Selling price $850.00 and litters are sold out fast.

you said 300-500 was a deposit- name the ones up there that are selling GSP 8 weeks for over $800.00- if he's a reputable breeder with a following we'll have to raise our prices
