I was wondering what everyone has paid for their pheasant mounts. I told myself i would get one done this year and i finally got a nice bird worth mounting. What is the average price i should expect to pay? has anyone ever taken a pheasant in with some damage that turned out nice?

I had one mounted nicely about 3-4 years ago and it was either $200 or $300 - i cannot recall.

I haven't had a pheasant mounted but have a mallard in flight that cost around 250 a couple years ago. As to the damage repair...i think how it turns out largely depends on the location of the damage and the skill of the taxidermist.

I know people like to mount the birds they shoot, but I bought one on ebay from a guy in South Dakota. I think he raises pheasants and kills them to mount. That way there is no damage to the bird. I was never able to keep the wings intact on the ones I shot to have one mounted in flight. The one is very nice, mounted to a piece of wood fence post with barbed wire attached. I think I won the bid at $130 or so.

Several guys in Utah do it for under $100.
I misplaced their contact info, but they frequent the gun shows and sell mounted pheasants for $60 to $100.
