A Little winter honor training video

Post by Jager » Sat Feb 20, 2010 5:38 pm

Did a little training while Duke & Jager where home before winter camp in Georgia. Other than getting the quail to fly, it turned out good. Thought I'd share.

I enjoyed that. Thanks.
How did the backing dog get in position.?

Suggestion; Never shoot towards the dog, especially that close.

I let the the first dog find the bird and point it, then let the backing dog out of the kennel which is located in the back of the truck. He runs in to back. After this, I switch the dogs so that both have an oppurtunity to back.
I always try to hold the gun fire away from the dogs, however it isn't really necessary as these dogs have had many, possibly near a thousand birds shot over and around them with shotgun blasts.
