I've Decided to Push the Limits!
I've Decided to Push the Limits!
Everywhere I go, I see people carrying their little rat dogs. In the super markets, furnature stores, church, just to name a few. In order to get my fair share of dog time, I have decided to put my dog's roading harness on, with a sign that reads "dog in training" from each side, and take him everywhere that I go.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Can't wait to hear. I have always thought about doing that as well!

More power to you! If they ask you what they are in training for, tell them that they are in training to be a therapy dog. Tell them that you are going to use them to visit old people in nursing homes. They are far less likely to complain.
Speak kindly to me, beloved master. Revel in my unconditional love, and give me every minute that you can spare, for my time with you is short.

Go for it. Tell them "therapy dog" or "service dog."Birddogz wrote:More power to you! If they ask you what they are in training for, tell them that they are in training to be a therapy dog. That's a great idea, actually, I think I'll try it with my next pup. Get 'em a little vest that says "service dog in training" and no one will ever question you.

I take my dog a lot of places that he probably should not be. I take him into malls and all kinds of stores, etc. You would be surprised how many places never say a word to you, if you just act like it is no big deal.
I have only been told at a few places that I can not have him in the store.

I agree. Use the service dog one.

Who set your limits? I am sending you one of my favorite crayolas.......this is not the year of the monkey....it is the year to color outside the lines. Try it. I cannot support things that are obviously illegal or dangerous. Many places will accept your visits without question. We do it to socialize pups. My local Tractor Supply begs me to bring my young'en.

You are going to have to show me how this is illegal or dangerous.
I am just looking for equal rights here. How many times have you walked into a place of business and seen a person carrying one of those little purse dog carriers? Or watched as a little rat dog was being walked in a walmart. If this is okay, that my taking one of my Britts there should be too.

I've trained about...20 Service dogs. Technically, people/the general public can't even ask you why you have him with you. As long as he is marked as a service dog. However, if a cop/police approached you, you would need to be able to identify what he "assists" you with and why he needs to be with you.
Please just dont make it any harder for Service dogs..its hard enough as it is getting full access rights.
