Boy, I started in in beginning and this is an old post. Saw a lot of people we don't hear from anymore. When this started, I still had:
GSP's: Lefty and Thea and EP: Otis, all three are gone now.

Now, two E. Setter's Squirt and Bobie and One Red Setter Stormy. Stormy is a year old the 6th of this month and he's still stealing rolls of toilet paper and tearing them up if I forget to close the bathroom door! I think Stormy was a good name for him although I have another affection one I use at times!

If I did comment, then it would still be the same.
Mine are all called 'Heel' .
Then when they have just about learned that, they can have their own name when they are with the others.
If I just had the one , It wouldn't matter what name I gave it. It would still do what it's trained to do.

your right, dog wouldn't need a name just go do what it was trained to do. I'd give that idea a try but I like to talk to my dogs more than is should. But I'm sure your right! You guy'sn in Europe have to understand, you've been at this a lot longer than we have! :D

I've had Irish Setters named Rusty and Casey.

My last dog, my first GSP, was named Penny (a nod to the Beatles...Penny Lane).

Our new pup is named Briggs. I'm a big Detroit Tiger fan, and the team, prior to the 1950's, was owned by a gentleman named Walter Briggs, and back then TIger Stadium was known as "Briggs Stadium."
