Dog Trailers

Post by M1Tanker » Thu Jul 22, 2010 8:58 pm

I am in the market for a dog trailer. I built my own 4 dog trailer a few years back and it is decent but I am looking to step up and buy a real one.

I would like to get a new one and preferably, a 6-dog trailer with some storage and water tank.

I am looking for opinions from those who have bought dog trailers on what brand they have, why they like it, what they would order different the next time, etc.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...Dennis

Dennis, I know you said "new", but this looks like a nice setup and OK price...http://www.gundogforum.com/forum/viewto ... 59&t=24394

Thanks...I saw that one but to be honest, the doors facing the back scare the crap out of me. I know you can lock them, etc...but I am paranoid about that style of set-up.

Looks like I am leaning towards a Premier Aluminum one but need to get more details.

I have about 15,000 miles on one with rear entry doors with nary a problem, I do have locks and then a 6" safety chain.

In addition to safety, the rear boxes seem to collect a lot more dust when on dirt/gravel roads (the doors are mostly expanded metal, very open), so were I to buy a new one, I would want all side opening doors.
