I have a bad feeling that my male GSP is going to have some problems with his hips when he gets a little older. Does anyone know of a supplement that helps out with hip issues?

Has anyone used coturnix quail for training before?

We just had a baby and my female acts like a mini mother and my male pays no attention to the baby. Will this be an issue?

Thanks

Hi Collin,

Sorry I dont have any input on your baby (congrats by the way) and hip issue but for the coturnix, well, they are not good flies. In fact, most dont fly at all. If you are using it to train a pup, I would stick with pigeons. They are larger so they leave more scent and ofcourse will always fly hard. You could use the quail if your training with a more experienced dog but you're most likely going to have to toss the quail to get them to "fly."

Good Luck!

George

Hips: I use Dasuquin made by NutraMax. I buy off Ebay. Not bad price-wise. First 6 weeks, loading dose of 2tabs/day and then drop to one tab/day. Other things to keep in mind, keep your dog slim and exercised. Extremely important.

Couternix: Used them one time. Horrid fliers. They would not flush. We had to pick them up and throw. Even then they flew about 20' and then dropped. It was comical.

Do your self a favor and stay far away from the cotournix...very poor flyers.

I used them with a pup several years ago and spent a good year and a half getting her point back.
