thinking bout sending pup to school

Post by jimbo&rooster » Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:19 pm

So I am seriously thinking about sending my 10mo GSP pup off to a pro this spring for training. He will get hunted through the fall and hopefully be ready for some seriouse training by then. Now here is the kicker, I know that the guy Ive got in mind will do a great job and will treat my dog great, but my dog spends alot of time in the house with us, and the boss is afraid that when he comes back he wont be the same goofball that he is now...... is this a reasonable concern or should I expect him to readjust to home life upon his return
Jim
A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.

We've sent many dog's to a trainer over the years for periods of thirty days to four months. It has been our experience that they "readjust to home life" quickly. Good luck

If you have had him in for the last 8 months and plan on keeping him in until the spring, I don't think you will need to worry to much, he will re-adjust very quickly I believe.
