What keeps you dry?

Post by labman21 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 9:00 am

I just got some new gander mountain waders, I haven't tried them out yet but they seem to be pretty nice. What do you fellow duck hunters use?

I had a pair of gander waders thal lasted about 3weeks during hard hunting. the seams seemed to dry rot and they dont hold up well to wading through the backwater. I bought a pair of Cabelas 1600 waders with the armor flex and they have held up for 2yrs. unfortunately with waders you really get what you pay for.....

A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.

Ive been thru alot of waders....wont buy the high dollar ones anymore.

I bought a cheap pair of mad dog gear 3mm neoprenes (no armor flex) and they
have been thru 4 seasons now, briars and brambles wood duck hunting to big salt
marshes....they been used well and are hole free to this point. 55 dollars I paid
on sportsmanguide.com.

Think the longest lasting waders I ever had were a pair of Hodgmen jersey canvas jersey
waders.....had em 10 years and a mouse finally did them in.

Buddy of mine has three pair of cabelas waders with armor flex sitting in his garage...all had pinhole
leaks in them on the crotch seams....he made a contraption to inflate the waders with compressed air to find
the leaks and patch them....he's forever finding and patching leaks. Im loving my 55 dollar mad dogs.
