My training partner and I was having a discusion today regarding these two dogs as to wich one was more stylish and we could not agree. So, I would appreciate some help from the forum members on there views if you have time.
BTW, one is line bred Honky Tonk Attitude and the other is Crows Little Joe.
Thank You
First Choice

They are much alike and very nice but I would vote for the first one if I have to choose and I'm betting that is the HTA dog. But as you know they both are very nice in these pics.

I meant to add that this is how these dogs point, some times better but not worse (un-stroked). A typical find for these two girls and I can post flashier pictures but this is their norm.

Seeing them move would tell the story, I don't think of style in just pointing terms....its the whole package.
Nice pictures !

They are both classy/pretty moving dogs and long gaited but one does have more range.

#2 is my choice. Much more intensity and, as you know, that is what makes style in my eyes.

Both are great pics!

Not meaning to ruffle any feathers here, but #2 gets my vote. #1 just looks like a dog standing tall and not pointing. jmo

My vote is dog numero uno. Your #1 has a head kinda like my departed "Brownie" dog in my avatar. Gotta love the liver half mask.

That avatar pic was taken just after she turned four months old on some quail.........the jury is still out whether she is "stylish" or not.
I am sure she is out of a pointer......no short tailed dog would ever be worth having!

I bet there are one or two people on this forum that might disagree. Just for the record, which one of the dogs in the pics is yours?

I will ruffle feathers. Not even a horse race there. #2 blows the doors off #1. 12 tail vs about 10, both have high heads...enough said.

Number 2 for me also! Gotta love the blood streaks on her side. That shows me she has plenty of tail action and loves what she's doing!

It is not a fair comparison. #1 is distracted by the camera. Both nice dogs. In terms of the pictures, then #2.

Please, don't let that make your pick because everybodies pointer looks like that after a short time in certain conditions.
Thanks

I heavily favor one of them but I do love and appreciate everybody's boredome

Your STUCK UP.....You have a CASH dog

. He seems to throw style and nose into all of his pups and they pass it on.
Her is mine
Hot nosed dog and this is how she stands them...But if you touch her she will tick

I want a dog that is intense not only with body but also eyes. Want to see them staring a hole in the spot where the bird is. When they get the head that high it looks like they are just telling you there is a bird up there someplace if you want to go look for it. Probably just me but that intense stare is a great deal of the style in a point.

That's almost always what someone says that's never hunted over a dog that points with a high head or with head crank.....I can assure you there is never a problem finding the bird, don't need a dog staring at the ground to know there is a bird ahead, and to flush it.
The bird is always upwind, higher the head usually the closer it is.

I have one that points that way and it is ok especially from a distance looks really nice but I love the intensity of the stare and doesn't matter much if the front end is low as long as the rear is high. Love that look.

I don't know why any of my dogs do that because I don't barrel train or encourage it (too lazy and not sure how). I breed for High drive, Strong nose, brains, style, in order. Regardless of the picture they are equally intense on point.

Ezzy, I agree with you 100%. That doesn't mean that I don't like the looks of a high head and high tail but to me there is something really neat about a dog that gets those laser eyes going and points so intensely that they tremble.
That all being said to me I like #1 but thats just my personal uneducated opinion.

This one is not out of Cash. We found her backing my male looking like this. Not bad style for a back.

I vote for #2 looks like she reaching out for it, I have britts and one HTA pointer its cool to see him all cranked up when on point or backing To me it don't matter how they point high head high tail low head low tail whatever heck to me there all pretty on point !

# 2 looks like she's asleep on point.# 1's head style is about the limit for me.Wouldn't own one of them high Head Crank dogs, looks unatural and stupid to me,like they're pointing crows in the sky or something. No offense meant to anyone, some like em some don't.

Sorry, Captian. Won't happen again.
It looks like only one has a half liver mask in your OP pics. Perhaps a better photo would have spawned a more accurate reply from me.
I compliment your dog, and did I read a slam Elhews?!
My poor ol Elhew meat dogs pee excellence, point birds, and look darn good doin it.. That's all I care about.
