Our four run kennel is on concrete with a drain connected to the municipal sewer system. The panels are Priefert and the houses are dog den 2's from Gun Dog Supply. We hose them out twice each day and have very little to no odor. A patio covers half of each run as well as the walkway. In Summer I use a 90% sun screen over the open portion to help keep things cooler. The dog den houses are well insulated and work fine here in Alabama with no bedding. We do use thick rubber mats in the dog dens so the dogs don't have to lie on the metal floors.

Wow that is an impressive setup, Highcotton. It's obvious some planning went into it. Good for you and good for your dogs.

You might try www.gundoghousedoor.com/easy_dog_kennel.htm.

They have a lot of good info for dog doors, drainage systems, plans, etc.
Farmtek.com has info on floor heating if you want to go that route. Gun Dog Supply has houses and kennel supplies also.

Well, we put the center divider and new 15 gallon water bowls in the new kennel today and I decided to snap a few pics.

Runs are 4x16, dogs are only in it while we are at work, on nice days. Evenings they are house dogs. We pulled the houses when it got warm, gonna build them boxes in the corner by winter, and do a partial roof I think. I just built it this fall when I picked up the EP pup in the front run.

I remembered this thread, and figured I throw a pic in for the next guy to build some.
I have English Pointers because they don't ever grow up either...

Nice chicken coop. My mutts would eat that in two days.
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Gracias.

I've had diggers, and climbers, and jumpers. Somehow never a chewer. I've got a buddy with a softball sized hole one of his dogs chewed in the aluminum dog box... Now that I've said that, my next one will be a chewer!

I was hunting with a guy who decided to sit out his brit on a push. The dog went through the floorboards of a rusty bronco and joined us half way through the hunt. I built a 4'x16' elevated kennel for my lab, and he refused to walk in it, could have just as well been 2'x2'.

I got the concrete guy comin to form up my pad for my new setup Saturday, hopefully. I will post pics when it is completed.. It won't be as luxurious as DG's, but it will be a real nice setup. Just in time too! I got a litter due around the 16th of April.

DG- Super nice setup. I am envious. Any dog person would be estatic to have those kind of amenities. :D
