Moderator question

I'm new to the forum,and I was reading the "i got hosed" post, 2600 views and 140 posts(13 from the moderator) in 2 weeks. Just seems like with that much interest, you locked it way to soon, nothing else recently has inspired this much debate. Maybe if you had so many opinions on topic you should of let someone else lock it up.

We close threads when the concensus of the moderators is that the thread is not in the best interests of the stated mission of GDF. We ruffle feathers when we do. Sorry.

It just seemed to me that you ended a very popular, spirited debate, that was shut down after you put your two cents in 13 times. It felt like the kid who didn't like things not going his way and took his ball and went home. I didn't know that it took a consensus among many moderators to lock a thread down, I am glad that is the case. By the way I have found this a very informative forum, Thanks.

It is done by concensus of moderators available at the time. If I'm the lone moderator here at 03:00 some morning and someone posts something that I feel needs work, I do it. To do otherwise would logjam everything.

I was not involved in this thread but was monitoring it. I could see it was probably going to get locked, understood why and agreed with the decision. Just my .02 cents worth.
