Happy Day!

Post by Nhuskr » Thu Feb 17, 2011 10:10 pm

Today, at 15 weeks of age, I was finally able to bring Tucker home from the breeders! He had a bit of a rough start when the dam bit him and left 17 puncture marks in the poor little fella. :x Then, the infection started breaking out in different parts of his skin, so he wound up with over 27 open sores. The breeder and his family did a great job along with their vet of getting him healed up, but it took a lot longer than any of us expected.

Tucker has a great personality, and endured the daily baths and scab removals, along with two surgeries without complaint. He still looks a little rough where the hair hasn't started to grow back in, and he wouldn't win any conformation titles with the scars he'll carry, but I wasn't planning on that anyway. He is a bundle of energy and the pics aren't very good, because I couldn't get him to stand still very long. :D I want to get pics of his feet. They are the biggest swim paddles I've ever seen on such a little pup. :D

Looking forward to many happy years with our newest EB!

Nhuskr -

When I scrolled down and saw that pic of Tucker looking up at me with those eyes...

I immediately though of the the lyric from the Janis Joplin song " Don't you need some body to love??"

I think Tucker found his somebody. Enjoy.

Thanks! My hubby works with a guy whose dad is a vet. He said it's not that uncommon for mom's to attack their pups. We're not sure, but we think she may have reacted violently to the smell of the strange person's t-shirt (mine) we put with him. This was only her second litter, so she's relatively inexperienced.

Thanks, and he was. But I was green with envy when you all started bringin' your pups home last week, and he should've been with me the first of January. Now I can happily comment on all the cute pups!

Thanks! He has every possible marking for a French Brittany I think. :D Solid black, solid white, white with black ticking, white with orange ticking on his legs, a black/white roan on a portion of his back, and on his muzzle which makes him look like a wizened old man already.

Great looking pup - I love those EB's that look like they almost have some heinz57hound in them - gives 'em personality.

Heck the rest of this guy's life will be easy from here on out, just chasing, playing and sleeping.

Congrats.
