A little trainin... of the wild variety!

Post by Elkhunter » Sat Mar 19, 2011 11:52 pm

It is crucial to have a good training partner to keep you distracted while you are training, someone to yell at the dogs and give them some good pep talks. She went up to Woody and said "Find the bird Woody" good solid instructions for a pointing dog.

Sadie had first go at it, she gets better and better each time! That little sucker will run out there and point a bird and not take a step and all at the ripe old age of 8 months! Chukars beware this fall!

Woody went next, after his pep talk I expected great things....

It was fun, good times with my daughter. She says the dogs are fast, but she kept asking me if they were gonna bite her........

Very beautiful country!

My wife always tells my dog to be good and find birds before a hunt.
I have English Pointers because they don't ever grow up either...

She had a lot of fun, she is laughing and trying to grab the check chord as I drag it on the ground. Yells at the dogs as they run around, then crashed asleep on the way home! Tough work for a 3 year old! Thanks for the compliments.

Woody had a find today on a pair of Chukars, then went AWOL for about 1 hour after that! I was running him without a collar last night since I am still waiting to get mine back from Dogtra. He is rolling though, we have a trial this weekend and next weekend so I will keep you posted!

Had to go one last time to see some wild birds before I hang it up for the summer, had quite a bit of action! New little pup did great, had a few points. Old Ruger had most of the action and Woody was AWOL most of the time.... :|

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
