Very nice style on this one

Post by markj » Tue Mar 29, 2011 3:37 pm

Just got a new pic of my new puppy. Now I just have to get her here to my place. Hows this look for a hunting partner?

Is it me or does he have 2 feet in the air? Front right and left rear.

That's balance!

She was slow stalking the quail. Sure looks great there. Cant wait to get started on her basics. My son is really excited, lots of fun stuff this summer.

She is out of a litter KenL has in the dogs for sale. She is from 2 very nice dogs. I have some plans for this one,

Also looking to breed Ginger to a good stud. My son (Oscar) has decided what he wants so now I will talk to the people and see if ti is possible.

Watched Janie hold a point for about 5min this morning on a squirrel it was pretty intense and can't wait for her to get some bird action. Weather is starting to be a little better accept for the days I have off lately. Good luck with the new pup that litter did look like some nice dogs. You will have to keep us updated.

Love the intensity, but for style I prefer a 12 o'clock tail.

Now thats a good thing, but did you take a picture? :) do you have any quail or pigeons there? She should be ready to get out in the field soon and hunt for you.
Love the intensity, but for style I prefer a 12 o'clock tail.
She may develop that but it isnt a high priority for me the 12:00 cat tail thing that is.

I have a conspiricy theroy on them tails, somewhere they must have held a cat down and let a shorthair have his way. Pups got the cats tail :)

2 litters ago, out of 2 x NFC Nate all them pups had that tail. Was like seeing a bunch of cats in the dog kennel :) from the rear that is. White cats :)

Give me a ticked up traditional looking shorthair and I am a happy hunter. I prefer the blade thin deep chested smell a bird a mile away nose kinda dogs.

Had a male years ago I ran with my pitbulls on deer and varmints. Take a strong stick and let the shorthair and my best pit have a go at tug o war. That shorthair could pull that pit all over the yard :) was easy for him and that pit was 15 lbs heavier out of South Carolina Pit blood that folks just cant get these days.

There are many flavors of dogs for everyone to enjoy, some like this, some like that. Good thing we have the huge variety of animals to choose from.

Now we all need to take them out and hunt them. Thats what it is all about, not field trials, not braggin rights, hunting. Is why they were bred to begin with :)

I think his brother's tail is at least that, but he won't stay still for a photo. :) My boy has higher head crank, be he's been styled for it, too.

Now them are 12:00 tails :) see that cat theory is one to bet with :)

But I have found that the tail set means nothing as far as hunting goes, takes a good nose and some smarts to out smart the wild pheasants we hunt. They sure do look good tho. Will you be running any of these pups soon? should do good for you.

My pup and two of his littermates (On Point's Son of the Max x Cajun's California Connection, 5/10) have AKC Puppy placements. I really don't run AKC anymore and have adopted the broke derby philosophy, so my Oakie will wait until fall for his Derby season.
