Story behind magazine cover...

Post by rkappes » Fri Apr 22, 2011 5:42 am

I'm buying a copy of Life Magazine, February 25, 1946 - with the Best bird dogs cover, going to have it matted/framed, thought it would look kinda cool hanging in my future man cave. Guess I will find out soon enough but I was just curious what the story is behind the cover?

Nice photo...I have that issue.
Waynesboro, Ga trial.
Another dog won but that must have been the most photogenic pup.
Check out the dog vehicle.

Careful there now 'lectric man. Them be longtails and Tarhellia's Lucky Strike was an All Age longtail to boot! Wouldn't want you to start that slide down that slippery slope toward the dark side! :D :D :D

Was it the early 50's when they began docking the tails on those GSP's?
