Want to smile ???

Post by GrayDawg » Sat Apr 23, 2011 3:31 pm

I picked up Katy at Chokebore Kennels yesterday and this is who greeted me when I pulled into the driveway! :D

These are Elhew linebred pups.......... the real Elhew, not an imitation.
They are the cutest little things and will soon become bird finding MACHINES !!

What's a real Elhew? Bob Whele has pass away, that's the only place you can get real Elhew. I am interested in knowing the difference, I just might be wrong in my assessment.

What about Hays's stuff?

Mr. Wehle passed his line of dogs to Brian Hayes, owner of Chokebore Kennels at Addieville East in Mapleville, RI.
Brian is the guy who trained my Katy for me. Unbelievable dogs Brian has there. I trained with him on Fridays and was able
to see a bunch of his dogs work while training backing with my dog.

In short, Brian is Elhew now.

Cute pups.

This would probably best be for another thread but IMO you can't pass on a "line" you can pass on dogs but what makes a line is the unique pairings that are made by the lines creator... Once the creator of the line is gone so is the line IMO.

I think if you pass the dogs along to someone with the same vision, and they remain true to it, you have passed on the line. Whether that person(s) will be able to continue on with the same success by making the right pairings is another matter. Only time will tell.
