Picking a name

Post by BillGraves » Sat May 21, 2011 5:48 am

I know there was one of these threads recently and I enjoyed it but my request is a little different. I would like to have a vote here of the names that I am considering. So, please vote for one or you could choose to write one in like the general elections.

10 Month old GSP male:
My thoughts are:
Boone
Joe
Mack
Dodge
Jack

I have another GSP whose name is Remington (Rem)

Thanks
Bill

Jack. Had a dog by that name a long time ago. Named him after the dog in the song by The Band.

There's a lot of GSP Boones.
Joe is a pointer name.
Jack is a setter name.
Dodge - you really want the wheels fallin' off?

That leaves you with Mack. Or Pluto

Really?!...I have never heard of Boone for a dog. I rethought Dodge because what if I get rid of this truck and then get a Ford?! And Jack and Joe, never heard of certain names being for certain breeds...interesting.

I don't associate names with breeds, except if you had a setter you could name him Matt. :)

Got to change my vote to Pluto, now.

ANYTHING but Jaeger, Ruger, Hunter or Fritz. Please.

If you have a Dog named Rem ( remington) why don't you name the other Chester for (winchester) then you would have two dog named like two Really great Amrerican Brand !!

Don't go for Dodge.. Your dog could devellop some shyness to go in public with a name like that .. Jack is fine too if you think about Jack Daniel according to the color of the dog.

Good luck
David & ''Hunter ''

Why put off until tomorrow a thing that we could do next week , next month or next year !!!

I've had a Jack and a Boone and I like both those and I also really like Mack.

Joe is a loser for me as you can't easily differentiate between "whoa" and "Joe."

Well, we went in a completely different direction and named him Chester, short for Winchester since I already have a Remington (Rem). He is home and the meet and greet with my current dog went well. Taking him to PetCo tonight for some supplies. Need a smaller collar!

What's wrong with Ruger? I know, I know, it's way overused! My Ruger is unique though; she's a female! Besides, they make an awesome firearm.

I have two shorthairs, Heineken's Dutch Treat and Smithwick's Hard Licker. Two favorite beers of mine. We use call names Heine and Smitty.
My daughter bought a peek-a -poo down in the Fla. keys this past winter and named him Key'ster. So, now we tell everyone if you don't want to pat my Heine, you can kiss my Key'ster!
