Dog needs a ride from VA to KS any help?

Post by oakcreek » Thu Jun 30, 2011 7:49 pm

I have a female out in VA that needs to get here. We can't fly in this heat, and thought I might ask to see if anyone might be headed in this direction. It doesn't need to come all the way here I can drive.

I will be going from Md to Neb/SD first week of Sept.
The second kick from a mule is of very little educational value - from Wing and Shot.

Feel your pain. I'm in VA and have my new pup waiting on me in NM. Same deal, cant fly her in the heat. I chose to have the breeder start her while she waits. I am driving out to get her in September (we are visiting family in Ark. only a day extra). I hope you find someone. Where did you get a pup in VA. What kind? I live here and am very curious! Love to hear about dogs coming from my neck of the woods.

I bought a started chocolate female from out there. She is bred right and i am going to hunt test her once we can get her here. I appreciate all the ideas

I believe it has to be less the 85 degrees to fly a dog

Continental Cargo will fly the dog no matter what temp. They climatized their vehicles, buildings, and every where the dog is.
Here's the number for Continental Live Animals to book a flight 1-800-692-2746. It does have to be a major airport they fly out of and into. The call is free and the worst they can do is tell you they don't fly there. For 8 week old britt pup and 26X18X18 crate, it runs around $215 + tax + fuel charge + $6 insurance.

If shipping doesn't happen before mid August, and can be arranged between VA and PA, your pup can hitch a ride to KS with hubbie who is headed to summer camp in Larned, KS approx Aug 12-15 or so.
