Feedback, + and -'s, possible relocation.

Idaho right? Well all I can say is when I lived in Idaho I loved it. Moved to Az to be closer to family and have regretted leaving such wonderful country every day since. I will be moving back up there hopefully this next year or the following. Tons of outdoor things to do and places to train and hunt up there.

I only have a little bit of knowledge about that area. There's a lot of outdoor activities, from Kayaking, Camping, hiking, to Bird hunting, (from Woodland Grouse in the mountains to Huns, Chukar, Quail and Pheasant in Washington and south around the Lewiston area) to Big Game hunting and Salmon and stealhead fishing down on the Salmon and Clearwater rivers south of CDA. As well as more small trout waters (still and flowing) than you could probably fish in a life time.

Oh! and it's awesome country.

Thanks...I can do what I do here there. The connectivty is fabulous and my day would end 2-3 hours earlier. 2 pm I would be done.

Sal - that's gorgeous, and I mean GORGEOUS country out there with a ton of outdoor activities at your fingertips. Not sure how overrun it has become with Cali-tree-hugger extremists, however. Heck, if you can relo and make a go of it, you'll definitely have much more space and access to hunting, etc. than I suspect you have in Jersey. Keep me posted so I can schedule my first visit to your new place - I'll bring the dogs, the guns, a few fly rods, and plenty of beer.

You need to get out more in AZ. There's tons of places to go and things to do outdoors. How many lakes do you need to fish on. More land to hunt birds on. You've got snow if you want or mountains. Birds season is outragous if you know where to go.

I have been fly fishing in northwestern colorado & wyoming so yes let's do it.

Sal's been on Wall Street for a while. You might want to take a nice single malt scotch vice beer.

Az is great ... tons of places to go, its a little hot for a few months in the summer but it doesn't last. Ken I thought you were coming back this way ..

Hope to be back this fall. Wife is still working on her mother. I'm leaving here with or without her. Had enough of this miserable country. If it's not the winter, it's the bugs, or humidity or tornados or floods or just hate this part of the world. Besides I need to get back to guiding again. I still get tons of calls.

mcb, Coeur is the Chessie capital of the country. Don't ask me why. But you'll need at least a squadron of spins out there to combat them - but not so many to, uh, out-retrieve them.

Congrats Sal I hope you get to move. I wouldn't wish living around and working in New York City on anyone. I am assuming you will day trading from your computer?

made the move last year from the east coast to out west and I am loving the opportunities hunting wise.

Food is not great in the NW in general...Better stay in Jersey...

Good forest grouse and waterfowl hunting right around Cd'A and as said good upland hunting with 100-150 miles to the south. Excellent fishing in the lake and surrounding waters. Steelhead 150 miles away. Good whitetail and elk hunting close.

2 things to seriously think about.....Wolves, and Bears....Grizzly and wolves are definately in and around the area and you could have some encounters if you are a serious grouse hunter. Now on the bad side, Real estate prices are very high relative to anywhere other than So cal and the islands . The area is lovely mountain and lakes galore, it is not to far from Spokane, which is a decent sized small city so you will be able to find just about anything you need.

It was either Scott Linden or one of those other hunting shows that had a "Cast and Blast" special on He11's Canyon a month or so ago. It's God's country...
