How much does your Brittany weigh?

I wondering what most Britts weigh in at? Mine is 13 mths old and no fat anywhere but you still don't see his ribs and he was weighed today at the vets at 39 lbs. With a breed standard of 40 lbs I guess I'm probably going to top out at about that when he's mature. So, what is the range of weights out there for Britts?

I have raised and purchased Brittanys over the past 10 yrs. I have had Brittanys as small as 22 lbs, and I have had them as big as 62 lbs. My average male is about 36-42 lbs and the average female is about 28-34 lbs. Those big and small ones come out when I have done line breeding. It is usuall 1 that is small and 1 that is large. The rest of the litter end up in the average.

My Britt is 10 months old right now and I belive shes over 40 lbs now. Then again she is easy 20 inches at the shoulders and built like her dad. Ezzy can attest to how big she is.

My female is 29.8 lbs and is 2 years old this May. The 60 +lbs brittanies I have seen look nothing like the breed standard and I beleive are a recent man made dog. Might call then an American Brittany Verson # 2.

Still proportional but they are just really huge. There was a reason we named him Dozer.

Mine is 54 pounds.. She was twice as tall as all of the other pups when I got her, most of her relatives are much less. I guess she was just the milk hog, she is still a solid dog, no fat, and run her about 5-7 miles 5 days a week.

Not to be nit picky but there isn't any muscles over the ribs of a dog.... If you can't see there ribs they are covered with a layer of fat. Same goes for the hip bones.... Just sayin is all!!

I have seen some of them, the family that we started hunting with in western KS has a whole corral of them. My britt weighed in between 50-55 lbs. These britts made him look like a dwarf, they weren't fat and had to weigh close to 70 lbs. Prob 6 in. taller and 6-8 in. longer. Need to remember to get some pics of them this year.

That isn't a Brit, 70 lbs is a big big setter. My male and female both wiegh about that much, 34 or 35 each.

Ron and Tania are both at the top of standard, 20.5 inches and 38/39 lbs.
Summer is 18 inches and 28 lbs.

My 11 month old bitch is 34 lbs. and has been for about the last 3 months so I'm guessing she's about done growing. She's lean & mean but not skinny.

hello im brand new to this forum and im a proud britt owner as i have been for over half my life. my newest britt will be 2 yrs. in sept and he weighs a nice 54lbs and he is skin bone and rock solid muscle. his name is cooter and my hunting buddy's nick named him last fall crazy cooter if you hunt over him you would know why. there's never a bland bird hunt with my little meathead. just thought i would say hello i saw this thread and had to reply to it.
