We all hunt in different parts of the country with different cover.

For me in the Tallgrass Prairie I really like a mostly white dog. They show up in the grass better than most.

I like em brown but in the woods he is hard to find sometimes. In the grass he is tall enough to find.

liver roan with fire ticking works great for duck hunting beaver ponds, also just plain pretty

I've got one of each. Can't say I favor one over the other esthetically, but for visability I give the edge to white.

Unless it snowed!

The issue we have here is the grass can be 6ft high if it has not been grazed.

Fishpond, you are right about the snow, but we don't get much of it here. When I snows I put a vest on him.

White with some ticking and a nice mask.

White for me please.....

The best colors to me are mostly white with chestnut and tan, or black and chestnut belton.

But I think my next dog will be mostly white.

What a great looking dog and the cover there looks awesome. Thick enough for bird, but your dog can get out there and still be in contact.

SetterNut, thats Missouri river bottom in the Dakota's, probably under water about now.

As somebody once said, a good bird dog is always the right color!! BTW, birddog1968, that is an awesome picture of your dog!!

I like the dark colored dogs myself but I hunt a whole lot more than just birds.

All else being equal I will take the whitest dog I can get. So much easier to see moving and on point.

White or maybe umm, white...

I like looking at dogs with liver patches and heavy ticking...

They can be hard to see for sure, and this marked up lemon girl I've got it quite the looker, she's growing on me in the looks department. Should be easy enough to see in brush, and not disappear in snow.

I just added some more white to the hunting team, This is Indy my 9 week old Llewellin pup.
He is going to be mostly white.

White body with colored head, preferable brown. I may be partial though Although the solid brown GSP's are quite the lookers.

I guess I have a preference for tri-colored setters..heavily ticked up with a dark mask and no style when they point!!
