ONE MORE MONTH UNTIL WATERFOWL...

just got the CABELAS CATALOGUE and see lots of stuff we are gonna be picking up..one more month until waterfowl opens CANT WAIT ..went to clean up a bit around the blinds and got some decoys out of our storage...with it a bit cooler and breezy this morning reminded me of those nice, crisp fall mornings setting up decoys in the fog and then........WAITING i can smell the dew now!!!.....ruth

Yup, chompin at the bit myself. Our early goose season opens Saturday, but there aren't really any fields cut yet so the pickins might be slim. Besides, the mosquitos are awful at the moment. I'm willing to wait a couple weeks for the temps to hopefully cool and for some farmers to get in their field and cut some grain.

Our resident regular season opens Sept. 24. Good thing dove opens Sept. 1 and grouse is Sept. 17 so I have a few different birds to go after until the real fun starts

I feel the same way! I CAN'T WAIT for duck season. This is going to be my first year with my own hunting dog, she is still going to be young but it is going to be so much fun hunting together. Our early teal season, here in Texas, starts Sep 10th! I just hope this hellish heat will be gone by then. Today was our 37th or 38th straight day of 100 degrees or higher ( and most days it has been over 105) and the 7 day forecast shows nothing but more brutal heat. Just another reason why I love fall. Cooler temps, football and hunting season, can't wait.

We are excited here too! Reminds me I have to renew our $50 a year lease on one of our fields!

my husband is a bit obsessive with them being organized, but they dont stay quite as organized during the season, some move to the garage into mesh bags ready to go ..he has had some of those decoys since he was 16 years old (almost 30 years) so i guess its paid off by making them last lol...hes the same way with our canned food in the pantry and when i saw the movie "sleeping with the enemy" with JULIA ROBERTS i immediately though of him ....ruth

Nope. I find a quite voice gets more attention. Yelling scares my dogs too, so I only yell when I am upset.

Wish we lived closer to you! We could have some fun getting out and hunting waterfowl. Your organization reminds me of the picture a friend of ours sent us yesterday. The dog is one that we fostered that he adopted and uses for waterfowl.

AWESOME!!..love to see adopted dogs get into hunting..ive had a few labs that i adopted out that went to hunting homes too, its the icing on the cake have a great season ...ruth

We have about 2 months before the waterfowl season opens. With the exception of forest grouse and doves everything is going to open around the 1st of October. I really like the diversity of the the decoys and it looks like you or your husband is a carver. They look great.

thanks my husband carves, he has since he was a kid and i "try" painting them..its something we like to do together and every friend and family member has at least one we use some of them for hunting so its nice seeing them out there knowing we made them ourselves..have a great season ...ruth
