Does my Dog think she's a squirrel?
Does my Dog think she's a squirrel?
I would have never thought this, but my dog ( 5 mo. GSP ) seems to like acorns, june bugs, loves ants, fruits and vegtebles to eat.
Is this pretty normal? Caught me by suprise a bit. I know they love to put everything in their mouth, just caught me a bit off guard to actually eat some of this.
If anyone has some thoughts on this please share.

Well, thats better than my 5 month old setter that eats deer droppings every chance she gets.............................

My GSP liked acorns also but I believe acorns are bad for dogs, Or at least I was told they was from the breeder I got my dog from. My GSP will eat anything!! I think he is part goat.

Ohhhhhhh That's awful. I prepared squash , leeks and potatoes this week. The 3 dogs mowed down all skins/rinds. Also eat water melons quarters from which we have eaten the red.

Most dogs I've been around love to eat bugs of all sorts.
My aunt had a morbidly obese dog (SERIOUSLY fat, fattest dog I've ever seen.) that subsisted mostly on bugs (mainly grasshoppers) and ate all the acorns she could, she walked around grazing on acorns like a cow. She was healthy when she got hit by a vehicle at 12. (Farm dog)

I have English Pointers because they don't ever grow up either...

Everytime I take Kona out for a run, she comes home and throws up goose poop, twigs, and grass. Then she expects me to feed her. They are all nuts. That's why we love em.

I saw a border collie one time that would bite pecans to break them open. Then he would drop it on the ground so he could pick out the nut and leave the shell.
Re: Does my Dog think she's a squirrel?
do an internet search, but pretty sure dogs are not suppose to have acorns! just a heads up.

Mine will eat anything. As I post this, I believe she is picking apples off the tree.

If your pup is not trying to climb trees or is climbing trees and not trying to jump from branch to branch I think your in the clear and can chaulk it up to strange things dogs eat!
