That picture is hilarious. Hopefully the storm isn't too bad and just totally over hyped. My fingers are crossed since its going to effect where I live too and I'm stuck out of town in Arizona on business and can't get a sooner flight home. Boo.

I Hope that everyone that is in it path will be ok. I have friends in Virgina Beach and Norfolk, I have friends in Jersey. I wish them well and hopefully the fearlessness(is that a word?) of youth has left them and they have gone to higher ground.

I will say this though, I was watching HLN and they showed Norfolk, and it was cool as heck seeing my ship heading out to sea! Gave me goose bumps and made me wish I was back aboard her!

I wish that pup was here to help us out. The storm is starting to lighten up now. It took out a section of fence naddamage teh pool pump and there are flash flood wranings all around. The cleanup will be fun with all the down trees. The power just came on about an hour ago in my neck of the woods. I will be glad when it is gone.
I'd rather live on the side of a mountain, than wander through canyons of concrete and steel.

Its starting to heat up. This storm is moving very slowly. Lots of rain and some wind. Really not expected to hit until after midnight. The 12 inches or rain we had over the past 10 days won't help.

High tide too when the surge hits. All mass transportation is shut down and the Garden State Parkway was closed last night at 8 pm.

None of the utilities here were designed for the winds coming.

Despite the National Guard patrolling, the surfers are getting a few runs in.

Little Subaru generator is ready for work!!!!

And true to his heritage, he loves the rain!!!!

Well at least you dont have 3 months of it like we have had. Now we find the roads are destroyed, bridges unpassable due to wash out. The feds are going to have a hard time fixing it all back as it once was.

I feel for them Vermonters, I worked up in brattleboro and across the state at a couple credit unions, them are some nice people there. Looked like they suffered the worst of it.
