For this first intro we pulled the flight feathers from one wing of the duck and tossed the duck into our pond and let the dogs chase it. The ducks would dive and come up in different areas so it made the dogs really search for the ducks.
We will do this a couple more times on our pond then move to a large body of water and keep working our way up on duck searches. We hope to use both dogs on waterfowl hunts as well as test them both at some point in Utility. But we are NOT rushing it with either of them. But they LOVED duck work!
