what dog boots to get if any

Post by trigger1989 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 8:38 am

I was wondering if anyone on here knows of a good boot to get my gsp if any. I've heard mixed things like some people say boots are a waste and that they don't stay on all the time and they are just a big hassle. Also, that getting some tuff paw stuff and putting that on works, or doesn't. I'm new to this so any advice or product advice would be appreciated. I have local access to cabelas and bass pro. Just throwing that in. Thanks!

Lewis Dog Boots...the best! I run GSP's in some rough areas and they work well. Have not lost one. Good luck!

Old front wheel motorcycle tube. cut into about 10 inch lengths, slits on one end to enable to slide over foot, gauze & duct
tape. works like a charm. Don't recall the web site describing the process.

Second the lewis boots, vetwrap around the ankle and duct tape to that. We always hunt cactus and my dogs are tough but it saves me time picking spines later.

JMC that's a great idea, the orange duct tape should leave no excuses for someone to shoot or steal a dog. claiming it to be a wild dog or a stray.
