Rain and Poop

Post by media310 » Mon Nov 14, 2011 11:56 am

Does your GSP like the rain? Mine really doesn't seem to dig going out in the rain. Granted she is still a pup (14 months). However I am moving to a very very wet climate - http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph ... 22.076&e=0 and wondering if anyone has any advise they can offer? It's just for the winter but looks like it may rain 80% of the time we are there..

I have no idea why anyone would leave Colorado for Washington! I left and came back to Oregon and it was a huge mistake! I looked on my road atlas and can't find Maple Falls, where is it?

West side, especially around Seattle your not gonna get wet, your gonna get drenched. I hope you have nothing planned for August 14th, that is the day you can see the sun! People from that area don't tan, they rust! You sure you really want to do this?

On a lighter note there's a new Cabelas not to far south of you. You can save yourself some money by using your boat to get there!

You will probably find some places with names you might not be able to pronounce. Don't let it worry you as the people mthere now are not even sure how to pronounce them! I assume your going there for work? Good luck. Plan a trip around the Olympic Nat Park on August 14th!

Think my dogs would go on the floor before I could get that on any of them. May be time to change dogs if they can't handle a little rain.

Not kidding but will admit I wasted space when I could have just asked, "are you kidding?" or I could have said it even shorter but I think we need to be civil.

Please do not buy that coat for your dog!!! That is borderline ridiculous. Is your dog a house dog?? I just can't imagine your dog hates the rain so much it would let you put that silly coat on it!

My dog lives inside, we play outside normally in the snow. We can drive about an hour up the road to the snowline and she loves playing in the cold for hours and hours. However the rain is different. I have to assume there are a few people on this board living in WA or Oregon.

If the rain coat helps, as stupid as it looks I will get it for her. Unless someone else has a better idea? I have the backdoor opened now and shes sort of sitting on the porch in the rain looking for animals. Maybe if she sees something shell make a move :) - Cancel that shes back inside now, or not..

my dogs dont like the rain but i would say my GSP pup harley dislikes it more then my boxer and my lab/brit, but he is only 3 months old, if he whines to go out and its raining i push him out and if he wont go i crate him and try again a bit later and eventually he will go out if he has to go bad enough..other than that if my dogs are out for a walk with me and it starts to rain they could care less :) ...ruth

as far as putting on embarrasing clothing on the dogs i cant say much cause my husband bought these for harley and mya for in the field  :| ...ruth

If my dogs don't want to go out in the rain, they don't really have to go.

Try again later. When they have to go they will go out.

Funny watching the girls pee on 3 legs so their paws don't get wet.

I started Kona at a young age. I strapped the leash on and went out with her. No matter how hard it was coming down. It is raining right now and she is standing outside the kenneI going. I am not trying to be mean, but please don't do that to your dog. Put that dog out side everytime it rains. Leave him out for a while or go run in the rain. He'll soon figure out it's not his call.

Mine are ready to go no matter what the weather - -20 , tornado etc.

Just take the dog and go .

Wet wear is not needed.

My guy had his business timed to science, unless it rained. Then he'd put on the brakes. A rain coat for me and a leash for the dog...We'd both go out and he'd do his business no choice...

I found where it's at. You don't have to worry about rain all winter. Jan 7 it snows!

If its raining and I let mine go to the bathroom, she will be gone for a three hour tour. Come back muddy as if she was rolling in the mud.... good luck with the move. I hear Colorado gets snow too.

Gonna read between the lines..................snowboarder,it's a rite of passage to get a MBHC badge, turned my badge in over 20 years ago to opt for a sport a little easier on the body, chasing dogs with guns.I was a boarder when boarding wasn't cool,Mt baker was one of the first ski areas in the country to allow it,very boarder freindly unlike some ski areas in California,in 1991 I got thrown out of three ski areas in one day............
