Best setup for pheasants please help!

Post by goalie805 » Fri Dec 09, 2011 8:00 am

Hello! Was just looking for suggestions regarding shells for pheasants. I am using an 870 12g as my gun. Can I use a 1 1/8 oz load or do I need to do a 1 1/4 high brass load. (Not so much fun shooting all day  ) Also what is the best shot size? I have been using an Imp Cylinder for quail locally , can I use that or should I use a modified? I will be huning pen raised birds, as I live in FL and will be hunting in GA. Thanks!

1 1/8oz. loads with improved will work just fine, especially on pen raised birds

Light loads and Imp Cyl should work fine for pen raised birds.

Just what the previous two posts said. And #6 shot will work just fine.
