Garmin Dealers

Post by Elkhunter » Tue Jan 03, 2012 3:22 pm

So I think I need a new battery for my Astro collar, it wont turn on at all and has been giving me trouble. I have been on hold for customer service forever. How do I order a new battery? Or how to I actually get a hold of someone?

I'll bet your battery is fine - I'd bet the on/off button is broke. That's what happened to mine. Sent it in and they just sent me a new collar with the new and improved on/off button - like most ailments Astro, I wasn't alone in having that happen. You can pull it apart and see if the button is broke.

I had my battery go bad. Same thing, Garmin replaced the collar. I also learned that too much heat for too long can shorten the battery life, so now I bring the collar inside after a trip instead of leaving it in the van.
