Would you buy a Garmin 320
Would you buy a Garmin 320
now or wait for a possible upgrade resulting from the merger with Tri Tronics? I hate to buy something only to have something better come out a month later for almost the same money. Also do you feel the tec 1.0 is a better choice with builtin e-collar? I already have a TT ecollar.
I don't like people who don't like dogs......

Re: Would you buy a Garmin 320
Just bought a pro 100 and a garmin 320. I didn't want to wait. I love the 320. I really liked the feel of the pro 100 for training. I didn't want to see them combined. I've seen the tec 1.0, didn't care for it.
Re: Would you buy a Garmin 320
I'd buy it now, who knows how long you're going to wait otherwise. In actuality, I prefer having the two completely separate devices.

All these companies are searching for the next best thing. There is always going to be something new that the companies are claiming is better. Buy it now and get some use this season, really learn to use it over the summer. Then in a couple years buy the newer better one.

Re: Would you buy a Garmin 320
I already had a training collar and I bought a Garmin 220 a couple of years ago. I am not sorry I did. I could upgrade to the 320, but as of now, I have no pressing need to do so. It works fine and does what I need...just fine.
But then I am not someone who has to have the latest and greatest. My TT Flyway special e-collar is old as the hills, but still does me just fine.
I suspect that if you buy the 320 you will find it very useful for many years.. By the time you are ready for sonme new technology, who knows what will be available?

I actually prefer that the ecollar and garmin collar be seperate. I will eventually upgrade to the 320 but I think I will wait until some good used ones start showing up for sale.

Re: Would you buy a Garmin 320
I have the 220 gps and the tt e-collar works for me. Would not want the two in one unit. When the dogs are on the ground they have the e-collar on. Only put the gps on in heavy cover or when rolling on the chukar hills. The gps products will get better faster than you can buy them. Just like computers.
Re: Would you buy a Garmin 320
I just purchases the 220. You can find some great deals on line now that most are upgrading. It works just as well with fewer bells and whistles. I got it due to my pointer who likes to run. Realistically, what do you need it for? If it is to be able to track a dog or 5 either handheld works well. 220 is much cheaper, i have found about half the price. If you have to much money laying around and need to the latest and greatest go for it. You buy the cheaper model now and wait and see what comes of the future.

I would wait and go with a Marshall GPS if I was to upgrade from my 220.
Hopefully they have something SOOOOOOOON!

Re: Would you buy a Garmin 320
Got a new 320 this fall and used it for a month of six weeks. Fabulous unit. Far superior to the 220.

Gonehuntin, We will have to hook up. Would love to see how it works as I want to buy one. Maybe we can do a farm hunt soon.
Re: Would you buy a Garmin 320
I would not wait to buy hoping for something new to come out. I've been hearing rumors of a TT GPS/e-collar combo for 2 years. Who knows when we'll actually see something.
That said, the 320 is awfully nice, and if I didn't already have a 220, I would definitely get one. The 220 is still nice and does everything I need, so I have a hard time justifying replacing it at the moment.

That is the same set-up I have. I had a 220 which I liked, but sold it to a friend. The 320 which I bought a few months ago is significantly better.

I also like having the e-collar separate from the GPS. And I have a 320 - love it!
